Tom Kennedy
General Manager

Tom grew up in the northernmost suburb of Chicago, which happened to be in the state of Wisconsin. The first concert he ever attended without parental supervision was Pete Seeger and Tom has been a fan of socially relevant music ever since.

After spending many years hitch hiking around the country, at one time living at 9800 feet altitude in the Rocky Mountains without electricity or plumbing for a year, Tom got off the road and on a dare from a young lady applied for a job at a radio station in Milwaukee -- and, got it. Much to his surprise he found an environment that encouraged freedom of thought and he has been hanging out in radio stations ever since

The broadcast odyssey has given Tom the opportunity to manage hugely successful stations in Oklahoma City, Greensboro-Winston - Salem, Memphis and New Orleans, where he was based for approximately 18 years. Stations under Tom's supervision were known nationally for their success, being nominated for many national awards including the most prestigious NAB Marconi Award four times.

Now he finally is involved with a radio station, 101.5 the valley's music place, that represents the best of what he believes a local radio station should be -- Passionately involved with the listener, An advocate for the community, An opportunity for new music to sampled.

Tom and his Scottish Terrier, Hamish, can often be found at the dog park. He also likes live music, sprightly conversation, and watching people discover how great they can be when they discover their passions.
